If you post a description of what you are attempting to do, as simply as possible, it might be easier to come up with a better solution.

ie in very basic terms, what sort of data each of the three tables contains (create table and create index statements for the tables are useful), the relationships between them and what you are attempting to achive with the query etc ... then it is much easier for someone to test out alternatives and suggest solutions.
