alias for an oracle field

I have an oracle table and the names of the fields are a little mis-leading for the average user.

I'd like to show the user an alias and when the user chooses the alias, then I'd like to use that field in the query.

For example there is a field called "sp_id" and I'd like the user to see "site_process"

Then I'd like to use "select site_process .... from ..." in my query.

I've never used an alias before or if it's possible Received on Tue Jul 12 2005 - 17:09:02 CDT
