Randy, the extent information of an existing object is taken into consideration when objects are allocated in locally managed tablespaces via import. To populate your new tablespaces export using the compress=n parameter so on import each object will take only as many extents as it needs to hold its actual data.

Daniel, Jonathan is busy rewriting due to changes in optimizer behavior for that last dot release of 10g on his test plans.
