RAC is just oracle on multiple different nodes simultaneously. You just administer 1 database at a time, like always.

Yeah you have to deal with some plumbing issues like the clustering software etc.

As long as you have a test cluster to get familiar with the environment it's not rocket science.

Some people put up production databases on RAC without having similar test clusters ... now that is asking for trouble.

You can get familiar with RAC on one machine ... just google around. After you can do it on one machine, then build a test cluster for some school/project if you need to add it to your resume. Just be honest documenting what you did. Received on Thu Apr 28 2005 - 12:55:03 CDT
