1st login problem on new oracle install

I defined an account: administrator with a password during setup. This
is Oracle 10g I downloaded from oracle. Wehn I try to login to the
manager (through the web based interface) it says username/password
invalid. I noticed the install said SYS and other related backdoor
names were disabled by default. How can I get into this, help! TIA
