You already received a lot of good advice.  



One alternative you might want to consider is to use iSQLPLUS, which is a
SQLPlus variant, provided by Oracle, that runs in a browser.  Needs a bit
of set up, but works reasonably well, and (if I'm reading the tea leaves
correctly) will become Oracle's preferred (or only) SQLPlus - especially
with EM 10g
