Yes, Oracle has manuals - but the server farm is in Kansas and I am in California, so I don't have access to them. We have reference material here, and I consulted them, as well as several co-workers, before I resorted to the newsgroups for help.

Thank you for the example - it helps as I learn to move through the new world (to me) of the Oracle dB.

As for the object id - since I am not dropping the view - won't it retain the same object id? And I don't think that sequence numbers are a problem - the vendor of the program runs so many things themselves that my understanding is that it isn't a problem. Intermediate tables are created constantly around here, used, and then dropped. That was way more overhead then I was looking for for such a small amount of data that I am trying to tie together. Granted, it may not be the best solution, or anywhere near it, but it is better then what we have right now, and that is what is important to the person who requested the trigger from me.
