IMHO only if You need Forms 9i, because 9i only runs in a browser. The former version 6i was the last that supported a C/S environment. (7 or 8 never existed)

Most opinions go for 9i, but AFAIK, there are still many 6i and even 5 Versions
used widely out there, simply because this is the world how it is, there are still environments
which are not changed to 3tier.

Depends on Version: 6i = C/S = 2tier, 9i = 3 tier. Forms internals are a little more complicated for a beginner ... Some key concepts as System Modes are almost undocumented, it took me some time to get it ...

PL/SQL (and/or Java) can be used in PUs and Forms triggers.

That did not change since I started searching 2 years ago. There are only few books
on Forms, it is not a "mainstream" software - the crowd is all out for Java.

but nothing on Forms 9i especially, AFAIK, and of course no web docs aou there.

Besides the difference in supporting environments, did anybody in the Group recognize a *significant* improvement from 6i to 9i ? I understand that 9i and 9iAS maybe good for *very* big company or ultra-portable apps,
but else ? Not every company has worldwide subsediaries.

Just curious. If I knew better, I would not ask.
