I have a Jaguar not a Chevy ... because I like it. Well that and it takes corners at 70 as smoothe as silk.

I don't buy or recommend databases for matters of style or taste or to 'get chicks'. I recommend them based upon a cost benefit ratio that includes security, stability, scalability, performance, cost, feature set, ease of use, ability to obtain support, ability to obtain trained staff, confidence that the vendor will remain viable for the life of the application. It is a bit more complex an equation.
