Not to mention the two kids I caught cheating on a take-home final! They
both used the same wildly incorrect code (there were some other details, but
I won't mention them here so as not give give tips to avoid getting caught).
The ironic part of the story is that even if they had both aced the final
(would never happen, but...), one would have gotten an F anyway, and the
other a D. So now, in addition to their Fs, there is a cheating note in
their academic record.
Students: The profs are better at detecting cheating than you are at covering it up. Don't cheat- it's not worth it. You don't learn anything, and you'll never get a job, as you won't be able to pass the job interview. If you do manage to fool someone, it won't last.
