I have no problem with surrogate keys ... use them all the time.

I still don't see any evidence that the OP needs one. A natural key exists even if it wasn't included in what was posted.

I only object when it seems like people treat every problem like it is a nail and try to solve it with a hammer. Which is still what this could be.
