First sentence agreed, but I think there should be airing in the newsgroup of bogus books/cd's, and obviously there is a lag time for the publisher to make good on it (especially if the publisher is on a different continent). It's really frustrating to go through a book, then start final preparation for an imminent test and discover the cd with the online testing software is bogus.

Of course, asking for the PDF might be a bit much, if it is taken as an indicator that some intellectual property violations are about to happen.
