Why blame the CPU without even looking at o/s issues? And what "similar problems" are you refering too? Hearsay?

FWIW, I only use AMD for my personal machines for almost 10 years now and Oracle always worked without any CPU incompatibility issues or problems.

OTOH, I cannot say the same of Windows.. or Linux.. or HP-UX.. or Reliant.. or Sinix.. or Irix.. or OS/2 and even Netware if you want to go that far back. Not even too mention the problems with Java VM's and their inconsistent and often buggy behaviour.
