What is the full version of the Oracle ODBC driver you're using (i.e. 8.0.5.x)? It's been a while since I've used a client that old, but I'd wager that you need an updated version of the 8.0.5 Oracle ODBC driver. The 8.0.5.10 driver is still available for download on OTN.
