Morning Fred,

there is an excellent downloadable white paper at http://www.dizwell.com/ which will lead you step by step through installing Oracle on Red Hat 9. I'm sure that the process is the same for RH 7.

The author, Howard J Rogers, is a fairly recent convert to Linux and is an Oracle trainer in a past life as well. For these reasons, it is a 7 MB download. Hope you've got broadband !

The paper tells you how to install and create your first Oracle database on Linux. Enjoy.

HTH Cheers,
Norm.

PS. Bookmark the site so that as more stuff is added you will learn more :o)
