all your taking are oracle certification classes. These are NOT useful for learning oracle. Oracle university books or 'Oracle press' books. Those are from osborne and the quality of many osborne books are dubious. Your just using the certification books. There isnt much in those things. They just teach you for the tests. They dont teach you the good stuff. Certification is nice to have(and Im getting it), but its NOT that important. People want EXPERIENCE. Your not even using good books. Are you atleast using the docs on otn.oracle.com? They are better than the certification books(and Ive read both).

Most of the books used in oracle training are just copies of power point slides anyway. They are not very good.

OCM teaching yoru course? So? Hes only covering the basics anyway. It doesnt matter that he is an OCM for this level of a course.

of course its hard for someone new. There is alot of mateial, but its VERY basic for anyone with a little experience. I can barely change my oil in my car, so if someone hands me the basic mechanics book, it would be hard for me. How hard is it for someone who has done it for a little while?

You will not even get an interview out of this class. Its a waste of money. There is no such thing as an entry level DBA. Chubb is stealing your money. All youll get is a certification which is totally worthless without atleast 4 years experience next to it. Received on Mon Nov 03 2003 - 08:53:39 CST
