Since you are changing OS platforms, your only course of upgrading is to use the Export/Import method. Create a dump of your 7.x database with exp. Then transfer the dump file to the Linux platform and use imp to import the contents into a prebuilt database. This is fully documented in the Oracle 9i Migration Guide.
