I think you have a huge misconception about how one connects to Oracle
through ODBC: You don't. Or at least not without installing Oracle's
client software. You see ... Oracle isn't a Microsoft product and isn't
able to leverage a monopoly.
Get the Oracle Client software, which includes the installer and ODBC, and you should have no problem. BTW: Why are you going through so much angst? If you have access to the database ... the client software is on the same CD.
