It is well known and documented that Oracle 8i will not install on XP
most of the time. You have two options:
- Upgrade to Oracle 9i
- Downgrade to Windows 2000 or Windows NT
Your problem cannot be solved otherwise. You are trying to stuff a
square peg in a round hole.
