It is well known and documented that Oracle 8i will not install on XP most of the time. You have two options:

  1. Upgrade to Oracle 9i
  2. Downgrade to Windows 2000 or Windows NT

Your problem cannot be solved otherwise. You are trying to stuff a square peg in a round hole.
