Hi Ray,

can you 'pull' the changes instead of pushing ?

We use NT and Win2k clients here and on logon a script is run to pick up the latest tnsnames.ora (and sqlnet.ora) file from a central location that only the admin staff can write to. This way, any changes we make to tnsnames.ora get picked up 'automatically' when out useres next login.

As for our servers, I simply ftp the latest file to them - I only have 5 unix boxes so it isn't a mojor hassle.

Cheers,
Norm.

PS. I did write a tool to ftp the tnsnames.ora file up to the servers but it may not be helpful to you. Give me a shout privately if you want to take a look.
