Has anyone successfully installed and run Oracle 8, Personal Edition onto Windows XP Pro ?
I have an old CD with 8 (not 8i) but it doesn't install. I found a patch on the web, but it didn't work either, since it was really for 8i.

I've just ordered the 9i Developer CDs from Oracle (OTN), so is it even worth me trying to install 8 or should I just wait until the 9i CDs get here? (in your opinions)

Do those "trial" CDs expire, or are they unlimited use for learning ?

Thanks for any and all help!
Sincerely,
