That is your opinion. One to which I strongly disagree. And your analogy is meaningless.

Using my brain or a calculator to produce an answer in mathematics will not produce different answers.
Using some company's GUI tool and SQL*Plus may, and does.

After you figure out how to install your GUI tool on my client's AIX servers with Solaris workstations I'll
let you take a whack at tuning their SQL. Until then I guess you're stuck in Windows.
