Just installed 9.2 on LINUX as home..have an admin question:

On Windoz server, Oracle service is started by "net start oracleservie<SID>" This will load the exe and start the database

On 9.2 on LINUX/UNIX, dbstart launches sqlplus and issue "startup"

My question : so this is the single command that actually started the Oracle processes ?

thanks
