Problem logging into Oracle 8i Personal

I had Oracle 8i Personal edition working on my computer for about 3 years.
After changing the file system to FAT32 on my WIN98 machine, I cannot login to Oracle anymore.

After trying to login through the standard SQL Plus+ screen with any of the standard accounts (sys, system, internal, scott etc...) I get a small
window with "Oracle 8i Startup" at the top and a field to enter a password. No password I have tried works..Does anybody know why this would happen? and if there is a password that would allow me back in?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks,
