Cute! Not exactly an answer, but it made me laugh.

Actually, you almost never need to login as SYS unless you want to start/stop the database (like when you connect / as sysdba) or to modify the data dictionary (like when you need to run the catalog.sql script after manually creating a database). You login as SYSTEM to be the ultimate DBA (except you probably don't want to create any tables because they'd end up in the SYSTEM tablespace by default). A good plan is to login as SYSTEM and create another DBA userid that has a userdefined,  locally managed tablespace as the default.
