Error using adBSTR with MDAC 2.7

(Maybe this is off topic, but we didn't got help in other groups like Visual Basic, databases etc.)

Oracle 8.1.7, MS Data Access Components (MDAC) 2.7, VB6 SP5

Any usage of adBSTR (null terminated string) when execute a Stored Procedure Call with MDAC 2.7 throws the error -2147217887 "SQL datatype out of range". The error doesn't occur with MDAC 2.6. Using adVarChar and parameter.size = n works, but it would be too costly to rework the whole app.

Anyone an idea?
