Because the whole group had to see your comments about some private message. It was unnecessary.

Lets say you were in a technical users group meeting. Before that meeting, you and this other fellow had a very rude confrontation. Would you feel comfortable getting up in front of the group and bringing up your personal argument? No. The group's purpose is to discuss technology, not hear personal problems or arguments. If the argument started in that room, then, maybe it could continue there, but walking into the room, standing up and saying ... But, your personal argument had nothing to do with technology, it had to do with personality.

I'm not the one getting all worked up over a private email to the point that I post it back to the group.
