Java is Java is Java.

Knowing Java can never be a bad thing.

XML is something entirely different.

Knowing XML and XSL can never be a bad thing.

Oracle as a database is just that: an RDBMS

Fitting all of this together in a coherent manner is a challenge, because all of a sudden you will want to take into account Internet technologies.

THIS is where JDeveloper comes into play.
