I screwed up (as corrected by Sybrand).  I told you to increase redo logs, I
meant rollback segment size.  ORA-01555 is usually a side-effect of a
rollback that is maxed out.  Of course there are other reasons for
ORA-01555, but the one I've always come across is because rollback segments
are maxed out.
