No Oracle app could possibly require lower-case object names. If you somehow have one I'd remove it from the system and smash the CD.

The basic assumption in the Oracle data dictionary is that all object names are upper case. While Oracle allows lower case and mixed case to be used (I wish they didn't) it can only break things or make all coding a nightmare.
