paradox problem in using win2000 professional

hi guys, i had a problem using paradox ver 7 in windows 2000 operating system. Once i run the application some of the button is not highligthed you cannot press the said button. I tried several instruction as i had read thru internet and follow the instruction like for example in using the application tools in the win2k cd. Can somebody help me in my problem and i will appreciate the effort.....
