8.0.5 and 9i client on NT, error ORA-12154

I successfully have 8.0.5 and 9i clients (coexisting) working on several Win2000 operating system.

My problem is this:
installing 8.0.5 and 9i clients (coexisting) on a WinNT gives the following error:
ORA012154: TNS:could not resolve service name

I am sure I have the same tnsnames.ora file (9i) in each client. And each client has the same tnsnames.ora file (8.0.5).

I get the error message when I try tnsping or sql-plus 9i to a 9i host name on the NT machines.

Oracle 8.0.5 is: ora_home
Oracle 9i is: ora_home9

Any ideas?
