need help with a sql statement

hey guys,



im kind of new to the sql / oracle business and i need help with an sql
statement.



i have table with 5 columns. 2 of them are important. in one of them is the
date and in the other one is a value. i need to compare the date with its
predate and calculate the difference between the two dates and find out
those which exceed 5%.


any help will be highly appreciated
