Peferred Credentials on OEM

Okay - I know I've seen this before but it has me stumped right now. I have
just set up OEM on a new dev environment and when I try to set the preferred
credentials for a node/database/lisenter/etc. the settings aren't saved. Any
ideas? I can log in fine but when I exit the window they settings are gone.
Have I started the agent wrong?
