I'm afraid I got rather irritated by the original post (the code in which
also was intended to do nothing useful). So I posted a reply which did
exactly what the OP was trying to code, without commenting helpfully as
others have done about selecting into something or the use of ref cursors
etc. This was not helpful and I apologize.
