I would suggest that convincing the vendor their product sucks is a better option. A yet better option is to sue them, as you are going to pay $$ for extra and faster hardware to circumvent the issue. Basically you also seem to have a non-scalable application now. It also looks like *almost every* vendor transferring their sql-server junk to Oracle by means of *porting* is using autocommit. One way or another, those morons will only learn when they are being damaged as a result of this policy.
