Basically the only thing you really need is the willingness to read
manuals and to understand the *concepts* behind the mere syntax
descriptions.
You would also need the capability to troubleshoot, the capability to
combine initially apparently unrelated issues, and above all you'll
need perseverance, design and think before you start hacking a program
together and go for *structural* solutions, instead of programming
with glue and sellotape.
