Oracle intermedia text select word only exclude others

Hi,

I want to select all records from the table that has some word and its synonims in the subjects field.

select distinct subj_term from org_subj_terms where contains(subj_term,'syn(fish)')>0

The problem is I want to exclude records that also have other words.

For example I want to select records with subject fish
pets (synonym)

but exclude
records with fish equipment in the subject.

How it can be done?
