Not having posted the hardware, the operating system, the Oracle version, the Oracle edition, or anything else remotely useful in helping you the best I can offer is that it is probably the result of a bug. You should probably go to http://metalink.oracle.com and you should probably look it up, download, and apply the appropriate patch.

If that doesn't satisfy your requirement ... try posting information that might be more helpful and likely the resonse will be too.
