Unlikely you really need to do this. Oracle isn't Sybase and readers don't block writers and writers don't block readers. Views in Oracle are not bad things. If you really really really feel you just gotta have this look in the docs for global temporary table. If you have the correct version. But alas you don't mention what version of Oracle. Jim
