Hi there,

I have a 8.1.7 DB on which i run some audits (logon) The audit logs the user, machine logon/logofftime, etc.

Can i also log the application which the user used ? I know i can ask the v$session but it doesn't show in aud$. I want to know if the user used sqlplus or TOAD to connect to the DB.

I could offcourse trap a dbms job to log the contents of v$session every 5 min. but that just doesn't seem
the right thing todo.

I tryed creating a trigger on aud$ but a sys owned object cant hold a trigger :-)

Please advice me what to do. I have one user who is allowed to use a certain application but is not allowed sqlplus acces to the DB.

Thanks in advance,
