If you download the test content checklist from http://www.oracle.com/education/certification/ you will find that the two tests are indeed very similar.

I just compared the two checklists, and all the headlines are the same.

However, expect the new test to be updated, so they are probably not 100% alike (although I can't tell you the exact difference). Also, the 1z0-121 test has now been withdrawn (and replaced with 1z0-131).
