Re: ORA-12154: TNS:could not resolve service name

Opposed to setting TNS_ADMIN this makes administration more complicated. You build in dependencies you will regret one day. Personally I use only one tnsnames.ora, located in the TNS_ADMIN directory, and remove all other tnsnames.ora files from the system. This applies also for the other network related configuration files of course.

One other thing is that I don't locate the TNS_ADMIN directory in one of the ORACLE_HOME's.
