Why, if it says you need a new Oracle Home directory would you doubt it? The answer is Yes..The installer will allow you to specify a location for the new home..

It is often not a good idea to mix versions,like 8.x and 9.2.x ; you run the risk that any output from the 9.2 OMWB will not be compatible with your 8i database...

If you are not clear about what an Oracle Home is, you may want to read the Concepts manual and other docs before attempting any Data Migrations...
