Hi,
Last week our AIX box crashed and we needed to start over with a clean install. Luckily, we had week old backups of the system which included the oracle database files. Is there anyway if I now reinstall oracle that I can use my existing database files? We have no other source of the data we need. What would be the procedure? Would I not have the install create a database? How do I take my .dbf files that I have backed up and making them 'active'? THe oracle version we are using is 8.1.6.

Thanks! Received on Tue Aug 06 2002 - 07:21:13 CDT
