The leading web portal for DBAs, www.dbazine.com, is looking for technical articles on database management and administration. Dbazine accepts articles from anyone who can write knowledgeably and engagingly about database topics and issues. Please send abstracts and/or completed stories to Dana Farver, the managing editor, at dana_farver_at_bmc.com. Submission of an article or story idea does not guarantee publication in dbazine. Authors are paid $500 / article upon acceptance.

Articles submitted to dbazine must be between 1,000 and 2,000 words in length; they must also address a problem and propose a solution. In addition, dbazine likes to publish articles that contain either some sample code (unless it is a high-level strategy article) or some kind of diagram. Articles that appear in dbazine include:

How Tos
Tips and Tricks
Analysis and Interpretation
Technical Strategies for Dealing with Problems Optimization Techniques
Database Management Techniques

These are just some samples of the kinds of stories we're looking for. Of course, all story concepts are rooted in the field of database management and performance.

Below are titles of stories that have already run in dbazine. These should give you some idea of the kinds of stories we are looking for:

Recovering IMS Systems
Optimal Physical Database Design for Oracle8i The Future of Backup and Recovery

Check out all of the latest contents of dbazine at www.dbazine.com.

Cheers,
