[Win-XP] Problems installing Oracle in upgraded OS

I upgraded from Win-98 to Win-XP, Home Edition. When trying to install Oracle for NT in the upgraded system, the installation window disappears at about 85% of the installation process. Now, Win-XP is supposed to be a super set of NT, and Oracle is supposed to work in the most popular operating systems.

What should I do to make the installation work?

Thanks,
