Until you read the documentation, which you should do as *soon* as possible. Depends what you're running but:-

stop the intelligent agent
stop the listebner
shut down the instance

backup the filesystems/disks/whatever system you're on including datafiles. After your backup is complete, restart them in reverse. But seriously read the book. The above will get you by, but it's only a matter of time.....
