I don't know if this applied to Linux.. nor do I know which version of
tar RH 7.2 is running
But I recently had to download 'GNU TAR' from one of the sites (search google) in order to untar one of Oracle supplied files (OAS wireless beta), it wouldn't worked w/ any of Solaris supplied versions of tar (there are two).
