Hi guys and gals,
here's my problem.
Someone who worked here before I did installed an oracle 8.1.5
enterprise edition on a sun solaris engine.
Now I want to get the intelligent agent running, but it never really
starts and there don't appears an error message on the screen.
In the nmiconf.log ist written:
DBSNMP for Solaris: release 8.1.5 - Production on 25-APR-02 20:13:22
Using oratab file /var/opt/oracle/oratab
More messages are in the dbsnmpw.log:
DBSNMP for Solaris: Version 8.1.5.0.0 - Production on 25-APR-02 20:13:23
(c) Copyright 1997 Oracle Corporation. All rights reserved.
System parameter file is /oracle/Software/network/admin/snmp_ro.ora Log messages written to /oracle/Software/network/log/dbsnmpw.log
NMS-00001: Warning: dbsnmp unable to connect to SNMP master agent
this means, that the subagent wasn't able to connect to the master agent
(never heard of that before yesterday).
Well, I read the Oracle documentation and came up with the master agent located in $ORACLE_HOME/network/snmp/peer
Now, I edited all the files for the master agent. Then I ran it with ./start-peer -a as user root
And this was the screen output:
Starting master_peer ...
./master_peer CONFIG.master NOV >master_peer.out 2>&1 &
Done!
Starting encap_peer ...
./encap_peer -t 1162 -s 1160 -c CONFIG.encap >encap_peer.out
2>&1 &
Done!
start_peer: Error: /etc/snmpd.cfddi doesn't exist or start_peer: not executable. Exiting..
I don't know how to continue.
Has someone any ideas?
Greetings
Markus
